The fluid flowing through the system at high pressure can create a hissing and whining noise. Sometimes, these hydraulic noises can add another 5 – 10 dB to the overall noise level inside the cab.

That’s a big improvement from the previous levels, and it’s much more comfortable for the operator. At this level, the operator can still communicate with others using a normal voice, and the risk of long – term hearing damage is significantly reduced.

We’re looking into things like active noise cancellation, which uses microphones and speakers to cancel out unwanted noise in real – time. It’s a technology that’s already being used in high – end headphones, and we think it could have a lot of potential in our off – road forklifts.
